Description of the processor

With the Intel Core I3-10100 Intel has been an Intel Core i3 processor for the first time since the 2nd quarter 2020 with activated hyper-threading technology. The 4-core processor already clocks its cores with high 3.6 GHz in the base and can lift this clock frequency in multi-core operation to 4.1 GHz. If only a CPU core is utilized, even 4.3 GHz are possible.

The Intel Core I 10th generation processors are based on the Comet Lake Design and are still produced in a highly optimized 14 nm manufacturing process. With the change to the Comet Lake Design, Intel has introduced the new socket LGA1200, which should ensure increased stability by better energy supply, especially for the larger Intel Core i7 and Intel Core i9 processors.

The Intel Core i3-10100 can connect up to 128 GB of Memory of Type DDR4-2933. Unofficially, however, significantly higher clock rates of the memory are possible. If at least two memory modules of the same type are used, they can be addressed parallel in dual-channel mode, which doubles the memory bandwidth.

The Intel Core i3-10100 also has an internal graphic. The Intel UHD Graphics 630 used in the processor dates back to 2017 and has received only very low optimizations over the years. It may operate in the Intel Core i3-10100 with a GPU turbo of up to 1.2 GHz.

The TDP of the Intel Core i3-10100 indicates Intel with 65 watts. In practice, the processor needs a little more energy under full load. An overclocking does not look at Intel. The new Comet Lake processors have a significantly generous power limit, in which the processors are allowed to stop longer than their predecessors. This increases the energy consumption, but the power increases.
