Intel Celeron N5105 vs Intel Core i3-N300

Last updated:
The Intel Celeron N5105 is based on the Jasper Lake architecture and was designed for budget desktop solutions as well as compact mini PCs.

Manufactured using the 10 nm process, this processor features four cores and four threads with a 2 MB Level 2 cache and a 4 MB Level 3 cache. In everyday computing operations, it offers solid basic performance for simple office applications or web browsing. In direct comparison, however, it shows a clear inferiority in computing capacity in both single-core and multi-core areas.

The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 24 EUs (Jasper Lake) is only suitable for basic graphical tasks, while demanding gaming is not intended. With a thermal design power of 10 watts, the system operates energy-efficiently. The processor represents a cost-effective choice for basic systems where low acquisition costs are the priority.

The Intel Core i3-N300 uses the Alder Lake N architecture and is aimed at users who need increased efficiency in small form factors.

Although it is also manufactured using the 10 nm process, it offers significantly better parallelization with eight cores and eight threads as well as an 8 MB Level 2 cache. In common tests, the Intel Core i3-N300 achieves significantly higher performance in single-core and multi-core operation, which noticeably facilitates multitasking.

The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 13th Gen (32 EU) offers stronger graphical support but remains limited to simple games. Despite the higher core count, the thermal design power is only 7 watts. This processor offers an advantageous performance-to-energy ratio. The Intel Core i3-N300 is therefore the better choice for multitasking in compact systems.
