The Intel Celeron J3455 was introduced as part of the Apollo Lake architecture and is aimed at the entry-level segment as well as energy-efficient applications such as thin clients, HTPCs, or simple office PCs.

This processor is manufactured using the 14 nm fabrication process and features four cores and four threads. The Level 3 cache is 2 MB. Compared to the Intel Celeron J6412, the Intel Celeron J3455 shows significantly lower single-core performance and also noticeably reduced multi-core performance.

For gaming scenarios, the Intel Celeron J3455, with its integrated Intel HD Graphics 500 and a maximum memory bandwidth of 30 GB/s, is only suitable for very basic or older titles. It supports PCIe Version 2.0. The J-series is generally known for its low power consumption, which enables fanless designs.

It offers solid basic functionality for very price-conscious applications. The Intel Celeron J6412 is based on the newer Elkhart Lake architecture and also targets the energy-efficient entry-level and embedded market, but offers modern improvements. Manufactured using the more advanced 10 nm process, this processor also offers four cores and four threads.

It has a Level 2 cache of 2 MB. The Intel Celeron J6412 significantly outperforms the Intel Celeron J3455 in both single-core and multi-core performance. This results in a more responsive user experience for everyday tasks. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 16 EUs (Elkhart Lake) and the higher maximum memory bandwidth of 60 GB/s provide improved graphics performance, sufficient for basic media streaming and very light gaming.

It supports PCIe Version 3.0. Similar to its predecessor, the Intel Celeron J6412 is also designed for low power consumption. Despite its higher performance, it remains a cost-effective option that offers a better overall package for modern entry-level requirements.
