Intel Atom x7809C vs AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395

Last updated:
The Intel Atom x7809C uses the Amston Lake architecture and is designed for desktop systems where low energy requirements are a priority.

Manufactured using the 10 nm process, this model focuses on efficiently handling simple computing tasks. The processing unit features a 2 MB Level 2 cache and a 6 MB Level 3 cache. In synthetic benchmarks, the Intel Atom x7809C shows adequate performance for basic applications, but falls significantly behind more powerful models in complex calculations.

The maximum memory bandwidth is 38 GB/s. Due to the architecture, gaming performance is very limited, as no resources are provided for graphically demanding applications. The thermal design power remains low, allowing for simple cooling systems. The price-performance ratio is particularly consistent for industrial applications.

The AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 is based on the Strix Halo architecture with Zen 5 cores and is aimed at users with high computing capacity requirements.

Production takes place using the 4 nm process. With a 16 MB Level 2 cache and a 64 MB Level 3 cache, it offers large capacities for fast data access. In comparisons, the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 achieves significantly higher single-core and multi-core performance than the Intel model. Thanks to the integrated AMD Radeon 8060S graphics and a memory bandwidth of 256 GB/s, it is suitable for gaming scenarios and graphical applications.

Power consumption is correspondingly high due to the high computing capacity. This processor is recommended for modern workflows that require a high parallel computing load.
