V-Ray CPU-Render Benchmark

V-Ray is a 3D rendering software from the manufacturer Chaos for designers and artists. Unlike many other render engines, V-Ray is capable of so-called hybrid rendering, in which the CPU and GPU work together at the same time.

However, the CPU benchmark we used (CPU Render Mode) only uses the system's processor. The working memory used plays a major role in the V-Ray benchmark. For our benchmarks we use the fastest RAM standard approved by the manufacturer (without overclocking).

Due to the high compatibility of V-Ray (including Autodesk 3ds Max, Maya, Cinema 4D, SketchUp, Unreal Engine and Blender), it is a frequently used software. With V-Ray, for example, photorealistic images can be rendered that laypeople cannot distinguish from normal photos.

VS Description of the processor

To find the difference between these two desktop / server processors, you have to look a little closer. But let's start with the similarities first.

Both processors were launched in the second quarter of 2021, are manufactured using the 7-nanometer process and are based on the well-known AM4 socket.

Both the AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 5750G and the AMD Ryzen 7 5700G have 8 processor cores and support Hyperthreading technology, with which the 8 cores can become 16 computing threads if necessary. The basic clock frequency of the processors is 3.80 gigahertz and can increase to up to 4.60 gigahertz in turbo mode. In addition, both AMD processors have a free multiplier, with which they can be overclocked if necessary. However, a special cooling solution is then required for this, and a standard cooler is usually not sufficient for this.

The internal graphics unit is also identical in both processors, the AMD Radeon 8 Graphics (Renoir) is used here. This graphics unit has a fixed clock rate of 2.00 gigahertz and is manufactured using the 7 nanometer process. With its 8 execution units and 512 shader units, it achieves an FP32 processing power (single precision) of 2048 GigaFLOPS.

The processors each have 2 memory channels with which they can operate up to 64 gigabytes of DDR4-3200 RAM. The bandwidth of the memory used is 51.2 gigabytes / second and ECC memory is not supported by either processor.

The TDP of the two processors is 65 watts and the maximum temperature before the processors throttle is 95 degrees Celsius.

The only difference between these two processors is the number of PCI Express lanes. While the AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 5750G has 12 PCIe lines of type 3.0, the AMD Ryzen 7 5700G has twice as many with 24 PCIe lines (type 3.0).
