V-Ray CPU-Render Benchmark

V-Ray is a 3D rendering software from the manufacturer Chaos for designers and artists. Unlike many other render engines, V-Ray is capable of so-called hybrid rendering, in which the CPU and GPU work together at the same time.

However, the CPU benchmark we used (CPU Render Mode) only uses the system's processor. The working memory used plays a major role in the V-Ray benchmark. For our benchmarks we use the fastest RAM standard approved by the manufacturer (without overclocking).

Due to the high compatibility of V-Ray (including Autodesk 3ds Max, Maya, Cinema 4D, SketchUp, Unreal Engine and Blender), it is a frequently used software. With V-Ray, for example, photorealistic images can be rendered that laypeople cannot distinguish from normal photos.

Monero Hashrate kH/s

The crypto currency Monero has been using the RandomX algorithm since November 2019. This PoW (proof of work) algorithm can only efficiently be calculated using a processor (CPU) or a graphics card (GPU). The CryptoNight algorithm was used for Monero until November 2019, but it could be calculated using ASICs. RandomX benefits from a high number of CPU cores, cache and a fast connection of the memory via as many memory channels as possible. Tested with XMRig v6.x under the operation system HiveOS.

To trade Monero you can register with the crypto broker Kraken.com. We've been customers there for a few years now and have been very satisfied so far.

Two and a half years after the appearance of the AMD Ryzen 7 2700X, the AMD Ryzen 7 5800x comes on the market. In between is the AMD 3 series.
Both processors are 8 cores and have hyperthreading and can also be overclocked.

The Ryzen 7 5800X has a maximum clock of 4.70 GHz (Turbo 1 core) and otherwise clocks in a range from 3.80 GHz to 4.40 GHz on all cores.
The processor is based on the Vermeer Zen 3 architecture and supports RAM up to 128 GB DDR4-3200. It is manufactured in 7nm technology. Also on board is PCIe 4.0 with 20 lines. AMD even beats Intel with this processor in many places and has an impressive processor base with the 5xxx series.

The Ryzen 7 2700X clocks from 3.70 - 4.30 GHz (1 core) and supports a maximum clock of up to 3.85 GHz on all cores. The processor is manufactured in 12 nm and is based on the Zen + Pinnacke Ridge architecture.
Up to 64 GB DDR4-2933 RAM is supported.

Like the 5800X, this CPU does not have an integrated graphics card. The use of a dedicated graphics solution, such as the Nvidia RTX 3070, is therefore mandatory.
Both processors have an energy consumption of TDP (PL1) 105W.
In addition, the memory channels for RAM and support for ECC memory are identical.

The benchmarks clearly show the lead of the newer AMD Ryzen 7 5800x.
The CPU is usually at least 30% faster. Due to the higher clock rate and the newer architecture, it can also be up to 35%. In the multi-core benchmark of Cinebench R20, for example, the Ryzen 7 5800X is 31% ahead of the 2700X.

Of course, you shouldn't lose sight of the price difference. And since both CPUs are based on the AM4 socket, a later upgrade of the AMD Ryzen 7 2700X is also possible. This is currently still a good choice with a price discount of more than 50%.
