Description of the processor

The Intel Core i5-10400 is a tenth generation Intel processor from Intels Core i5 processor series. The processor has 6 processor cores that have a standard clock of 2.90 gigahertz and the maximum Turbo clock is 4.30 gigahertz. The size of the roof is 12 megabytes (Intel Smart Cache). Furthermore, the processor supports hyperthreading technology, which turns the 6 physical cores into 12 threads when needed.

The maximum memory size is 128 gigabytes, but it also depends on the memory type. DDR4 working memory is supported and a maximum memory clock of 2666 megahertz is officially supported. However, higher clock rates are also possible in practice, which mainly depends on the motherboard used. The maximum memory bandwidth of the Intel Core i5-10400 is 41.6 gigabytes/second and ECC memory modules (working memory with automatic error correction) are not supported by the processor.

The Intel UHD Graphics 630 is used as the graphics processor in the Intel Core i5-10400. In the Intel Core i5-10400, the standard GPU clock frequency is 0.35 gigahertz and the maximum dynamic graphics frequency is 1.10 gigahertz. With the maximum 64 gigabyte video memory, the GPU supports the parallel operation of up to 3 screens. The maximum resolution via the HDMI port in version 1.4 is 4096 x 2160 with 30Hz and via the DisplayPort 4096x2304 with 60 Hz. DirectX is supported in version 12.0 and OpenGL in version 4.5.

The Intel Core i5-10400 can be expanded via PCI Express in version 3.0. A total of 16 PCI Express lanes are available for the processor.

The Intel Core i5-10400 was introduced in the second quarter of 2020 and Intel states the recommended customer price at $182.00.
