Description of the processor

The Intel Core i7-7700K is a square desktop processor (8 threads) from the 7th generation of the Core i processors from Intel. His baseline is quite high 4.2 GHz. In this case, the processor can increase the clock frequency when using all cores up to 4.4 GHz. If only one core is utilized, up to 4.5 GHz in turbo operation are possible.

The "K" at the end of the processor designation stands for the open multiplier of the Intel Core i7-7700K. The processor is thus over-handable. If the processor is to be overclocked, a correspondingly good cooling must be present so that the Intel Core i7-7700K can continue to exploit its turbo.

The Intel Core i7-7700K is compatible with the base LGA 1151 from Intel and is based on Kaby Lake S architecture, which is manufactured in 14 Nm +. The CPU supports up to 64 GB of memory up to the DDR4-2400 standard. With OC-RAM profiles, however, the use of faster memory is easily possible. Dual-channel technology is supported by the Intel Core i7-7700K. When using at least two memory modules, bandwidths up to 38.4 GB / s are possible.

When IGPU, the Intel Core i7-7700K uses the Intel HD Graphics 630 with 24 execution units (192 shaders). This comes to a theoretical FP32 computing power (simple accuracy) of 442 gflops. This power is sufficient for easy games to full HD (1080p) resolution with low details. As examples, the two Blizzard games are called Diablo 3 and World of Warcraft, which can be played quite liquid in low resolutions with the Intel HD Graphics 630.

The processor was presented in the first quarter of 2017 by Intel and was available at an introductory price of 375 euros. His Level 3 cache holds 8 MB.
